When using the Content Risk Review Add-in for Microsoft Word, you can insert feedback directly as Word comments. This feature makes it easy to share feedback with colleagues and maintain a record of compliance issues within the document itself.
Adding Individual Comments
Follow these steps to insert a specific risk as a comment:
- Review your document using the Marketing Compliance Add-in
- When risks are displayed in the review pane, click on any risk item to expand it
- Click the Insert Comment icon at the bottom of the expanded risk
- The feedback will be added to the Word document as a standard comment, attached to the relevant text

Adding All Comments at Once
To insert all identified risks as comments in a single operation:
- Click the menu icon (⋮) in the top right corner of the Add-in
- Select Insert All Comments from the dropdown menu
- All risks will be automatically added as comments throughout your document

Working with Inserted Comments
After inserting feedback as comments:
- The comments become part of the Word document and are no longer tied to the Marketing Compliance Add-in
- You can interact with these comments just like any standard Word comment:
- Edit the comment text
- Reply to comments
- Resolve or delete comments
- Comments will remain in the document if you:
- Close the Marketing Compliance Add-in
- Save the document
- Share the document with colleagues
Tips for Using Comments Effectively
- Avoid Duplicates: If you have already inserted individual comments, using "Insert All Comments" will create duplicates
- Comment Persistence: Even if you re-review the document with the Add-in, previously inserted comments will remain in place
- Collaborative Review: Inserted comments make it easy to share feedback with colleagues who may not have access to the Marketing Compliance Add-in
- Risk Documentation: Comments provide a clear record of identified issues and can help document compliance review processes
