The steps below outline how to add a link allowing users to download an asset from your library directly from a database record.
| 1 | Ensure the appropriate asset has been uploaded into your platform. Click here for help on this step. |
| 2 | When asset has been added, copy the URL for the folder the asset is in. You can find the URL in your browser address bar. It will look something like this:https://yourplatformname.intelligencebank.com/resource/folder/index/70cc0613add4a07f0d7c484af6e31b15 |
| 3 | Find and copy the asset's Unique ID. It will look something like this: 0da115b36306fXXeb3b9271624975a7a |
| 4 | Navigate to your Database and click Edit Form Template from its action menu. Add a Note field. |
| 5 | Under Note Copy you can enter something like the below, inserting the URL and also the Unique ID you previously copied: To view and download the required guide please <b><i><a target="_blank" class="userFormLink" href="https://yourplatformname.intelligencebank.com/resource/folder/index/70cc0613add4a07f0d7c484af6e31b15?resourceID=0da115b36306fXXeb3b9271624975a7a"> click here</a></i></b> Note the addition of ?resourceID= which bridges the folder link to the asset's ID. Save the Note field. |
| 6 | You may then need to reorder the Note field to where you want it to appear on the form. |
| 7 | Once ready, select Exit Form Builder. |
In the above example, end users creating or viewing a record should then see the below text on the form that says:
"To view and download the required guide please click here."
When clicked, the link will take them to the asset which they can then view or download (if they have permission).
