What's the difference between local review and sending to IntelligenceBank?
- Local review: Only checks your presentation for text risks. Nothing is saved to IntelligenceBank. Use for quick reviews and for draft presentations. Some Advanced Rules and Images are not supported in Local Reviews.
- Send to IntelligenceBank: Uploads you presentation to IntelligenceBank, creating or updating a record. This performs a full Risk Review including images and Advanced Rules.
Do I need to be online to use the add-in?
Yes, you need an internet connection to:
- Sign in to IntelligenceBank
- Run risk reviews on presentations
- Upload presentations
- Load previous reviews
How long does my login session last?
Your session remains active as long as PowerPoint stays open. You'll need to sign in again after:
- Closing and reopening PowerPoint
- System restart
- Session timeout
Presentation-Specific Questions
What about embedded objects and charts?
The add-in reviews:
- Chart titles and labels
- Table text
- SmartArt content
- Text boxes and shapes
- Does NOT review: embedded videos, external links (unless as text)
Can I review just specific slides?
Currently, the add-in reviews the entire presentation. To review specific sections:
- Save those slides as a separate presentation
- Review the subset
- Merge changes back to main presentation
Database and Records
Why can't I see certain databases?
You can only see databases that:
- Have Risk Review fields enabled
- You have permission to access
- Are configured for presentations
- Support file sizes up to 25MB
Why can't I create new records in some databases?
Only the default database allows creating new records directly from the add-in. For other databases, you must select an existing record to update. This prevents accidental record duplication.
Why are some filter values read-only?
When you select an existing record, filters show the values already set for that record. These cannot be changed from the add-in to maintain data consistency in IntelligenceBank.
Risk Review Process
What types of risks are checked in presentations?
The add-in may check, depending on configuration:
- Compliance violations in slide content
- Legal risks in claims and data
- Brand guideline violations in design
- Spelling and grammar errors
- High-risk phrases in speaker notes
- Missing disclaimers on data slides
- Custom rules for presentations
What happens to dismissed risks?
- Hidden from current view but saved in History tab
- Remain dismissed if you save and reopen presentation
- Can be restored from History at any time
Why do risks appear on multiple slides?
If you use:
- Master slides with risks
- Duplicate slides
- Copy/pasted content Each instance may be flagged separately so you can address them individually
Technical Issues
What's the maximum file size for presentations?
- PowerPoint presentations: Maximum 25MB
- If your presentation exceeds this:
- Compress images (Picture Format > Compress Pictures)
- Remove unused master slides
- Delete hidden slides
- Save as PPTX (not PPT)
The add-in is slow with my presentation. Why?
Large presentations may cause slower performance:
- Many slides (50+) take longer to analyze
- High-resolution images increase processing time when uploading
Can I use the add-in with older versions of PowerPoint?
The add-in requires:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 or later
- Microsoft 365
- Not compatible with PowerPoint 2013 or earlier
Review Results
Why are different risks identified compared to on the web?
Reviews in PowerPoint and on the IntelligenceBank web platform use different processing methods.
The PowerPoint Add-in focuses on extracting text directly from slides and images, while the web version performs a more advanced analysis, including improved OCR for images and full support for Advanced Rules.
As a result, you may see some risks appear differently between the two. Reviews run on IntelligenceBank provide the most complete coverage and are recommended for final compliance checks.
Why are risks shown by slide number?
Organization by slide helps you:
- Navigate efficiently through presentation
- Fix similar issues on nearby slides
- Understand risk distribution
- Plan review strategy by section
Can I export risk results for my presentation?
Currently, results cannot be exported directly, but:
- Use "Insert all comments" to document in presentation
- Full review history saved in IntelligenceBank
- Take screenshots of risk panel for documentation
Upload and Integration
What happens to my presentation in IntelligenceBank?
- Presentation attached to record
- Full Risk Review triggered
- Thumbnails generated for preview
- Version control maintained
Presentation Best Practices
