How to Use Custom Sort Order for Resources inside a Folder

Modified on Fri, 10 Jul at 11:46 AM

You can arrange assets in any order that makes sense for your workflow by using the custom sort feature. Follow these steps to set up your preferred asset sequence.

Pre-requisite: In order to sort assets in a custom order, the folders' Default Order setting must have Custom Order selected.
1Verify Your PermissionsPlease check that you have the appropriate permission level to reorder assets in your target folder.
  • Verify you have Admin or Publish permission on the folder
  • Permission requirements are applied at the folder level, so your permission level may vary across different folders in your workspace
2Navigate to Your FolderIf you have the correct permission level, locate and open the folder you want to sort assets in.
  • Open the folder containing the assets you want to reorder
  • Navigate to the top-right ellipsis icon (...) and click Sort Assets

Note: Custom Sort Order is only available for folders containing a maximum of 150 assets.
3Drag and Drop to ReorderWith drag handles visible, you can now arrange assets in your preferred sequence.
  • Click and hold the drag handle icon on any asset you want to move
  • Drag the asset to your desired position within the folder
  • Release your cursor to drop the asset in its new location
  • Repeat this process for any additional assets until you have the correct asset order
  • Then, select Submit to save the assets in this custom order
