How to Use Custom Sort Order for Resources inside a Folder

Modified on Mon, 16 Feb at 3:51 PM

You can arrange assets in any order that makes sense for your workflow by using the custom sort feature. Follow these steps to set up your preferred asset sequence.

Pre-requisite

Admin must turn on the folder settings default sort order to custom order. Once this setting is enabled, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Verify Your Permissions

Please check that you have the appropriate access level to reorder assets in your target folder.

  1. Verify you have Admin or Publish permission for the folder
  2. Permission requirements are applied at the folder level, so access may vary across different folders in your workspace

Step 2: Navigate to Your Folder

Once you've confirmed your permissions, locate and open the folder you want.

  1. Open the folder containing the assets you want to reorder
  2. Navigate to the top-right ellipsis icon (...) and click Sort Resources
  3. Hover to the left on each row and once the drag icon is visible you can move it up and down

Note: Custom Sort Order is only available for folders containing a maximum of 150 assets.

Step 3: Drag and Drop to Reorder

With drag handles visible, you can now arrange assets in your preferred sequence.

  1. Click and hold the drag handle icon on any asset you want to move
  2. Drag the asset to your desired position within the folder
  3. Release your cursor to drop the asset in its new location
  4. Repeat this process for any additional assets until you have the correct asset order
