A core part of any Brand Guidelines and most pages is the ability to feature images and videos, highlighting your information and key assets. As part of the Drag & Drop Page Builder users have multiple options when it comes to adding Assets (Resources) - either via URL or by selecting a resource from the DAM (Folder / Resources Module).
Whilst URL support allows you to add in external or public CDN links; adding an asset via the DAM ensures that the asset is always up to date. New Versions added to the Asset will automatically be updated within the page, ensuring your DAM can act as the single source of truth. The permissions from your DAM also flow through to your Page, making it easy to ensure the right people will be able to complete.
Selecting an Image or Video in Resources
You can add images via Resources Lookup into an Image Widget, the background image for a Page, Section or most widgets. It can also be used to add videos to the Video Widget. To achieve this, follow the steps or view a demonstration of this below:
- In Page Builder, select the item you want to add an Image or Video to and Click the "Select" button to open the Resources Module (DAM).
- The Resources Module overlay will display items that you have permission to view. It also has default filters applied to ensure that only Images or Videos can be selected (depending on the widget or item selected).
- Browse through the folders as normal to locate your desired asset and select it.
- Click Add Selected at the bottom right of your screen. Note that you can only select 1 item.
- If you have selected an image you will then see a popup for you to choose the Quality of image you want to add.
-
- Note that this will not occur if you selected a video or if the file format is not one of the following: png, jpg, jpeg, svg, webp, ico, jps, bmp.
- For other formats that are supported for Preview in the platform, the most effective option will be added.
-
You can Replace the selected asset or remove it entirely via the Builder, as pictured below.
