When enabled, the Location Customisation setting allows users to customize an approval workflow in different locations.
This is helpful in situations where, for example, you want to create a centralised/template approval workflow and apply it on multiple folders, but also have the ability to make slight variations depending on which folder the workflow is applied to. Location Customisation helps keep the number of approval workflow templates a minimum, reducing time and site maintenance.
Main Admins can enable Location Customisation on approval workflows in the Admin>Workflows area of the platform. To learn more about setting up approval workflows, please reference the article here.
Specific workflow fields can be 'locked', preventing them from being changed by users. If a field is 'unlocked' and it's changed on the template level, it will not automatically update the workflow in each location it's being used.
When the Location Customisation setting is disabled, it hides the Lock Fields option. This means that ALL fields are always locked. This prevents users from customizing a workflow on a location by location basis (i.e. folder, database, or survey).
The Location Customisation setting supports the Grouped Download Request feature when disabled. For more information about Grouped Download Requests, click here.
* Please note that some of the terms used above such as Workflows & Approvals are customisable and may appear differently in your platform.
