There are many reasons why the platform may be slow. Below are some common reasons to troubleshoot or consider.
Access Reasons:
- Are you using the platform within a VPN?
- Which browser are you using? Are you on the latest version?
- Has your IT white listed the IntelligenceBank domain?
- Has your IT enabled WebSockets?
- Have you cleared your cache and/or cookies?
Platform Reasons:
- Folder size - speak to your Main Admin to amend the pagination settings to reduce the assets per page.
- A large folder is defined as 150 assets within a folder
- Asset size - previewing assets via the PDF document reader
- A large asset is defined as exceeding 20-30MB
- The PDF document reader cannot accommodate complex images and/or excessively large file sizes
- Anti Virus Scan (if purchased) - will deliberately slow the upload speed whilst the scan is completed. Indicative examples:
- PDF - 9.1MB - additional 6 secs
- Mp4 - 382MB - additional 5 secs
- ZIP - 1.3GB - additional 50 secs
- Group Permissions - If platform slowness is being reported by an end user, verify their group's permissions. Highly granular/custom permissions across different folders may cause slower platform loading time.
Key Points:
- IB is optimised for the last 2 stable versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari
- Permissions are verified per action i.e. each time you attempt to click/search/action to ensure you are permitted to proceed
