If a user loses their tablet, you can remotely remove access to all board data by updating their account permissions or suspending their account.
Immediate Steps
If a user loses their tablet, they should contact you and/or other admins immediately. You can then take one of the following actions:
- Remove permissions - when the finder opens the app, all data will be automatically removed from the device.
- Suspend or delete the account - the finder will be instantly logged out of the app when it is opened.
Both are effective ways to prevent access to sensitive data. Removing permissions is the preferred approach as it also automatically wipes the data from the device.
If the user needs immediate access to the platform, set them up under a new username (email address) and password.
Setting an Offline Expiry Period
To reduce risk, make sure an Offline Expiry period is set under Admin > Global Settings > Login. This forces users to log in to the app regularly (for example, every 8 hours), limiting how long an unauthorised user could access the app without a network connection.
Data Encryption
All data stored on the device is encrypted, including annotations. Even if someone attempted to access the device memory directly, they would not be able to read the data.
