Installation

The plugin can be found and installed from the Community marketplace here.

How To Use

Step 1: Open the Plugin

In Figma, navigate to Plugins > IntelligenceBank Content Risk Reviews to launch the plugin panel.

Step 2: Log In

Enter your IntelligenceBank platform URL (e.g. yourcompany.intelligencebank.com) and log in with your IntelligenceBank credentials. Your session will be remembered for future use.

Step 3: Select Artboards

The plugin automatically detects all top-level frames (artboards) in your open Figma file. Use the checkboxes to select which artboards you want to review. You can select up to 5 artboards per review.

Step 4: Configure Your Review

Before submitting, configure the following:

Step 4: Configure Your Review

Before submitting, configure the following:

  • Database: Choose which IntelligenceBank database to load category filters from
  • Upload Field: Select the upload field — each field may have different category filter options available
  • Category Filters: Select the risk categories to check against. Required categories must be selected before submitting.
  • Load from Existing Record (optional): Instead of manually selecting category filters, you can load the filter selections already applied to an existing record. Search for and select the record, and its category filters will be applied automatically. When you later send files to IntelligenceBank, they will be appended as new attachments to that record.

Step 5: Run the Review

Click the review button to begin. The plugin will export your selected artboards, upload them for analysis, and display a progress indicator while the review processes. You can cancel a review in progress at any time — your previous results will be preserved.

Step 6: View Results

Once complete, results appear in the Latest Review tab. Risks are grouped by artboard and each risk card shows:

  • The risk title (rule name)
  • A description of the issue found
  • A quote highlighting the specific text that triggered the risk
  • An expandable "Additional Info" section with a recommendation
  • An AI-generated rephrase suggestion (where available)

Review results are persisted, so if you close and reopen the plugin, your most recent results will still be available.

Insert Comments

One of the plugin's most powerful features is the ability to insert detected risks as native Figma comments directly onto your artboards. This lets your team see and discuss risks right on the canvas, without needing to open the plugin.

Why a Figma File URL Is Required

To insert comments, the plugin needs to make API calls to Figma's servers on your behalf. Figma's API identifies files using a unique File Key - a code embedded in every Figma file URL. The plugin extracts this key from the URL you provide so it can target the correct file when inserting comments.

This is necessary because Figma public plugins do not have direct access to the file key through the standard Plugin API. The file key is required by Figma's REST API to create comments on a specific file.

A private plugin add-on option is available however for customers who want to deploy their own plugin and bypass the need for users to insert the file key manually to enable comments insertion.

How to Enable Comment Insertion

  1. In the Latest Review tab, expand the Risks Insertion section
  2. Copy your Figma file URL from the browser address bar (e.g. https://www.figma.com/design/ABC123/My-File)
  3. Paste the URL into the Figma File URL field — the plugin will automatically begin validating
  4. If this is your first time, a Figma authorization window will open — sign in and grant access
  5. Once validated, the status will show Enabled and you can click Insert Comments to place risk findings as comments on your artboards

The file key and authorization are remembered, so you won't need to repeat this step each time you reopen the plugin on the same file. If you switch to a different Figma file, click Change File and paste the new URL.

Figma Authorization

Comment insertion requires Figma OAuth authorization. This is a one-time step per session - a popup window will appear asking you to authorize the plugin to post comments on your behalf. This is separate from your IntelligenceBank login and is handled entirely through Figma's own authentication.

Send to IntelligenceBank

After reviewing results, you can send your artboards directly to IntelligenceBank using the Send to IntelligenceBank action. This opens the IntelligenceBank upload form with your selected database and filters pre-populated, streamlining the submission process.

Tips

  • Select only the artboards you need to review - fewer artboards means faster processing
  • Use risk category filters to focus on the types of risks most relevant to your project
  • Inserted comments appear as native Figma comments, visible to all collaborators on the file
  • If a review is taking too long, you can cancel without losing your previous results
  • Your filter selections and review configuration are saved between sessions

Troubleshooting

  • "File not found" when pasting URL: Ensure you are pasting the full Figma URL from the browser address bar, starting with https://www.figma.com/
  • Figma authorization popup not appearing: Check that your browser allows popups from the Figma domain
  • Comments not appearing on artboards: Verify the Risks Insertion status shows "Enabled" and that the file URL matches the file you are currently working in
  • Risk Reviews feature not available: Contact your IntelligenceBank administrator to ensure Content Risk Reviews is enabled for your account
