If you use IntelligenceBank's Approvals/Workflows feature, you may at times need to have an approver removed or replaced with another user. This scenario might come up if the requester assigned the wrong approver by mistake, or perhaps the original approver isn't able to review the asset for some other reason.
Reassigning approvers needs to happen on the stage the approval is currently in, and it needs to be in "Pending" status. As such, it's currently not possible to reassign the approver in advance, before it gets to a particular stage of review.
Below are a few additional things to keep in mind:
- Commonly, only Admin users and an Approver can re-assign an approval as long as it is in "Pending" Status
- Requesters however can also re-assign Reviewers in some scenarios. Click here to read more.
- Reassigning approvers can be done by Main Admins, Approval/Workflow Admins, or the approver themselves. If the approval process has been configured as Requestor's Choice, the approval requestor will also be able to reassign the approver.
- Reassigning an approval request to another user will trigger an email notification to the new approver that they now need to review the request.
- It's considered best practice for the approver to notify the administrator or the requestor if they cannot approve an asset before they re-assign themselves
