If you need a section of your form to be duplicable (to allow users to add multiple duplicable sections when completing records), you can set up this feature when creating or editing your form template.
Duplicable sections are mostly helpful in scenarios where there could be a range of information that needs to be added to a form, but that range could be highly variable. For example, if your organisation uses a Marketing Request form and users need to be able to request multiple deliverables, each with its own required information, within one, main request. You may consider using duplicable sections so that requests can "scale" for however many number of deliverables are associated with any given request.
Setting Up Duplicable Sections
Users with the below permissions will be able to set up this feature:
- Main Admins
- Database Admins
- Users with Manage permission on the relevant Database(s)
| 1 | Go to Edit Form Template from the database. |
| 2 | Once in the Form Builder, add a new section, check the box saying Duplicable, then add the Section Singular and whether you want to enforce one section minimum. Then select Save & Close. |
| 3 | You will need to create at least 1 field within the duplicable section in order for the section to become visible. |
| 4 | Once you've completed adding your fields, save your form. Now when a user adds a record, they will be able to add duplicate sections to their record, as demonstrated below. |
Notable Limitations
The following are some limitations with duplicable sections:
- Once a section is created and saved in the form, you cannot adjust whether it is duplicable or not. Sections that have been created as duplicable cannot be edited to be un-duplicable and vice-versa.
- Fields within duplicable sections, while reportable, are not supported via Record Importing from Excel
