This article covers the specific scope, supported platforms, and current limitations of the Social Media Risk Scanning feature.
Frequently Asked Questions
What platforms are currently supported? We can currently scan public posts and ads from:
- Google Ads
What content is scanned? The service scans public-facing posts and ads only.
It does NOT scan:
- Full profiles or account bios
- Comments on posts
- Direct Messages (DMs)
- Facebook or Instagram Stories
- Instagram Reels
Whose accounts can be scanned? You can only scan posts and ads from accounts that you have oversight or control over. This includes:
- Your own brand's owned accounts
- Subsidiaries or "Controlled Affiliates"
- Contracted promoters, influencers, or brand ambassadors
Note: This service is for monitoring your own compliance footprint. It cannot be used to scan competitors or unrelated third-party accounts.
Is this a social listening tool? No. This service is focused specifically on compliance risk detection (i.e. "Is our content compliant?").
It is not designed for real-time reputation management, brand sentiment analysis, or general social listening (i.e. "What are people saying about us?").
Can the service scan historical or deleted posts? We can only scan currently live, public posts.
We cannot retrieve or analyze content that has been deleted, archived, or scheduled. The depth of available historical access varies by platform (e.g., from a few weeks to a year), but it is limited to content that is still publicly visible.
Are there any other platform-specific limitations? Yes. Each platform has unique restrictions:
- Instagram: Scans public posts only. Cannot access Stories, Reels, or content from private accounts.
- LinkedIn: Scans public posts set to "Anyone" visibility only. It cannot see posts shared as "Connections Only."
- Facebook: Scans public posts only. Cannot access content from private accounts, private groups, or Stories.
- Google Ads: Scrapes live ad previews only. It cannot access historical, expired, or paused ad campaigns.
What about video, audio, or GIFs? Currently, the service scans static content: the text of a post and static images (including analyzing text within those images).
Support for scanning video, audio, and animated GIFs will be available in a future release.
