By default, users with Publish permission on folders will be able to delete assets. You may want to consider restricting the ability to delete assets to just Admins if there's concern that too many users will have this ability, or if users with Publish permission may accidentally delete assets they shouldn't be.
To adjust Asset Delete Permissions:
- Navigate to the Settings tab of the Admin module
- Scroll down to the Assets - General section
- Locate the Asset Delete Permission field
- Select either:
- Publish (Default) - to allow publish users to delete assets
- Admin - to restrict deletion permissions to Admin users only
Select the Save button on the bottom of the page to complete the action.
The page will reload and a Success message will display confirming the changes have been applied.
Note: If Admin is selected, Main Admins, Folder Admins, and Asset Admins will be able to delete assets.
Limitations
The Asset Delete Permission setting applies across all folders. In other words, you can't determine which folder(s) Publish users can delete assets in, and which they can't.
