Asset Sort Order Options

Modified on Fri, 10 Jul at 11:34 AM

IntelligenceBank offers different sorting options for assets within your Asset Library. The options available are:

  • Asset/Resource Date- by most recent to oldest
  • Last Updated- by most recent to oldest
  • Alphabetical- by file name 0-Z
  • Custom Order- a manually arranged order by users with select permissions
Note: If you sort by alphabetical order, our search will prioritise assets with file names that begin with the following:
  1. Numbers
  2. Special Characters, ie '*!?$#' etc
  3. Letters

Setting the Asset Sort Order

By default, the asset sort order across all folders is set by Main Admins in the Admin > Settings area of the platform. For more information about how to do this, click here.

Admins can also adjust the asset sort order on a folder by folder basis, if they want assets in particular folders to display in a different order than the platform default.

Individual users can also choose to view assets in a different sort order within folders or off a search by following the below steps:

1Navigate to the folderNavigate to and click into the folder you'd like to access assets in
2Select the Sort iconSelect the Sort icon illustrated below. A green check mark will appear next to whichever is the current/default sort order the assets are displayed in.

3Choose a new sort orderTo update the sort order, select one of the other options. The assets will update their sort order immediately.

Note: If users are performing a search for assets, the assets will sort by relevance by default (most relevant to least). Users will be able to adjust the sort order off a search by following steps 2-3 outlined above. For more information about how search works, please refer to this article.
Note: Within each sort option, users can also choose to sort assets in the opposite order (ie: if sorting assets alphabetically, users can choose to sort assets Z-0, versus 0-Z).
Important: Individual users cannot set their own default sort order for assets; they can only adjust the sort order in the viewing session they're currently in.
