Supported File Formats for Resource Preview

The following file formats automatically generate an online preview when uploaded to your IntelligenceBank platform Resource module.

** Unlike other formats listed above, no converted version of the 3D asset is generated for preview purposes: the original file uploaded is loaded in a dedicated online viewer within the platform. As such, no physical thumbnail or preview of the 3D file exists, and it can only be previewed within the platform.

FAQs

Why doesn't my file have a preview yet?

Most file types require processing before a preview can be displayed. If you don't see one immediately after upload, check back a few moments later.

My .docx file looks wrong in the preview - what should I do?

Certain formats, such as .docx, may not always preview correctly within the platform. This can be due to embedded objects, complex formatting, or other factors. It does not affect your ability to download the file.

Why isn't my InDesign (.indd) preview showing?

For .indd files, settings must be applied to the file within InDesign before a preview can be generated. View more information here.

Is my format supported if it's not on the list?

Possibly - other formats not listed here may also be supported by the underlying conversion libraries. If you're unsure, try uploading the file and check the preview, or contact us.

A note on video previews

For video previews to work, the Convert Videos For Online Streaming setting must be enabled on your platform under Admin > Settings. 

Note that even when a video format is listed as supported, additional restrictions outside our control may apply. For example, some .mov files encoded as Apple ProRes RAW HQ (aprh) will not convert due to copyright and licensing restrictions on the format.
