URL Markup Comments & Annotations

Modified on Tue, 9 Jun at 3:27 AM

This article outlines key information about how IntelligenceBank's Markup Comments and Annotations feature works specifically for URLs undergoing review and approval.

Key Benefits

Using Markup Comments on URLs allows users to proof, collaborate, and get approval on items such as website changes or newsletters being sent out to consumers.

Links that have animations or other live elements can also be viewed, making it easy to review the item as the target user would.

Other annotations functionality is the same as for other file types. To read more about those, click here.

URL Support & Restrictions

There are some restrictions for URLs which could impact their ability to be displayed and annotated:

  • The ability to add annotations and revisions is supported with Publish Approvals, Record File Approvals, and Database General Markup Comments.
  • Only URLs which can be displayed in an iFrame can be viewed. Note that this may be a setting which needs to be enabled when creating the link or webpage.
  • The URL must be publicly accessible. If the link's content is behind a login, it cannot be viewed.
  • The link should be secure - containing "https" rather than "http".
  • There are some known issues when Viewports are enabled on a website. If you experience any issues, please contact your Customer Success Manager for more information.

Adding a URL Revision

When adding a URL revision, the previously entered link will automatically be added to the New URL field once you have clicked Add Revision.

Once the Save New Revision button is selected, a snapshot (screenshot) of the previous revision will be generated as a PDF, allowing you to update the same URL while maintaining an accurate history of the changes made to the link.

Previous revisions will also display their annotations and comments, allowing these to be resolved as required.

Any previous revision can be downloaded as a PDF file. The current revision includes an option to directly access the URL in the browser.

Note: The functionality above is only available for current or future revisions and requests.
